The Optimize Dictionary dialog box optimizes any dictionary you want to use.

You do not need to optimize dictionaries very often. However, it is recommended that you do this from time to time. As you add more words to your dictionary with the Add to dictionary button (refer to Spell Check dialog box options described in section Spelling), the added words need to be re-indexed from time to time. This ensures that the word searching functions of the spell checker work efficiently.

The options for optimizing are:

• Dictionary - enables you to specify which dictionary you want to optimize.
• Start - starts the optimization.
• Cancel - cancels this optimization.
• Scale - displays the progress of the optimization.
